TX Teacher — Step-by-Step Guide

This guide walks Texas Teachers through the STAAReady reports in EduSmart. Teachers can review pre-test/post-test growth, check each student’s STAAReadiness in the Pathway 3 Report, and drill down to individual student performance including the AI Tutor Transcript.

STEP 1: Open STAAReady and Run the Report Filters

Log in to EduSmart as a Teacher.

Callout ①: Click STAAReady in the top navigation bar.

Callout ②: Use the filter row to select the Grade (e.g., Grade 5 Tx Science), the Standards (e.g., 5.6(A), 5.6(B)(C), 3.6(B)(C)), and the Resource Types (Pre-Test, Pathway 1, Pathway 2, etc.), then click Submit.

Callout ③: Click View Reports in the banner to access all student reports for completed assignments, pre-tests and post-tests.

STEP 2: Open the Standards Based Group Report

The STAAReady Reports page opens as a Detailed Group Report.

Callout ④: Make sure the Standards Based tab is selected.

Callout ⑤: Use the GROUP dropdown to select the class or group you want to review (e.g., Demo K-5).

Callout ⑥: From the Standards list, click a standard to open its Detailed Student Report (e.g., 5.6(A) | Physical Properties of Matter).

STEP 3: Review the Growth Report

Callout ⑦: The Detailed Student Report opens on the Growth Report tab. Compare each student’s Pre-Test (%) and Post-Test (%) scores, along with their Growth (% pts).

Note: Growth is shown in green for positive gains (e.g., +20) and red for declines (e.g., -20).

STEP 4: Review the Pathway 3 Report

Callout ⑧: Click the Pathway 3 Report tab to see each student’s Score, STAAReadiness status, and Total Time Spent. Use the Quick Filters (Not Ready, Progressing, Ready) to narrow the list.

Callout ⑨: Click Scoring Guide to see how the readiness categories (Not Ready, Progressing, Ready) are determined.

Callout ⑩: Click a Student Name (e.g., EduSmart, Student51) to open that student’s detailed report.

STEP 5: Review Student Detail and the AI Tutor Transcript

The student’s Detailed Student Report shows Time Spent, total Questions Answered, how many were Answered Correctly Without Help, Answered Correctly With Help, and Answered Incorrectly, followed by a question-by-question breakdown showing each answer attempt (1st Try, 2nd Try).

Callout ⑪: For questions answered with help, click View AI Tutor Transcript below the answer choices to see the full conversation between the student and the AI Tutor.

Note: If a student has multiple attempts, use the ATTEMPTS panel on the left to switch between them.

Quick Reference Summary

1. Click STAAReady in the top navigation bar; select Grade, Standards, and Resource Types, then click Submit.
2. Click View Reports to open the STAAReady Reports page.
3. On the Standards Based tab, choose your Group and click a standard to open its Detailed Student Report.
4. Review Pre-Test, Post-Test, and Growth (% pts) in the Growth Report tab.
5. Switch to the Pathway 3 Report tab for Score, STAAReadiness, and Total Time Spent; click Scoring Guide for readiness criteria.
6. Click a Student Name to open their detailed report and review question-by-question performance.
7. Click View AI Tutor Transcript on questions answered with help to see the AI Tutor conversation.
