This User Guide will show you how to assign individual Lesson Components to students.
-----------------------------------------------
After you find a Lesson Component to assign to your students, look for the Assign icon and select it.
-----------------------------------------------
There are three options: 1) Assign on EduSmart Platform, 2) Copy Assignment URL, and 3) Share to Google Classroom. This user guide will discuss the first option. The other two options will be discussed in separate User Guides.
-----------------------------------------------
There are three options when assigning on the EduSmart platform: assign to group(s), assign to sub-group(s), or assign to student(s). This user guide covers how to assign to a group, but the procedure is very similar if you choose sub-group(s) or student(s).
-----------------------------------------------
Your class groups will show up in the Not Assigned List box.
-----------------------------------------------
Select one or more of your class groups by selecting the check box(es). In this example, we have selected the Demo Student Grade 5 group. Next, select the top arrow to add that class group to the Assigned List box.
-----------------------------------------------
Notice that the Demo Student Grade 5 group has been moved to the Assigned List box on the right. You may check additional groups in the Not Assigned List box on the left and move them to the Assigned List box on the right using the top arrow. Likewise, you can check a group in the Assigned List box on the right and use the bottom arrow to remove it from the Assigned List box. When you are ready to proceed, select the Next button.
-----------------------------------------------
Select the From text box and choose a start date for this assignment. The system defaults to today's date, but you can choose a start date in the future if you wish. Students will not see the assignment on their EduSmart dashboards until the start date chosen if start date is in the future.
-----------------------------------------------
Select the To text box and choose an end date for this assignment. This date must be at least one day after your start date.
-----------------------------------------------
In this example, we have chosen a start date of October 25, 2023 and a due date of October 27, 2023. You can select either text box to change these dates as needed. When done, select the Next button.
-----------------------------------------------
This summary page allows you to verify this assignment's information and make changes as needed. To change the assignment, select the Back button. If you are satisfied with all your settings and are ready to assign this to your students, select the Assign button.
-----------------------------------------------
You will now see a confirmation window. To close this window, select the x in the upper right corner of this window.
-----------------------------------------------
If you navigate to Workspace, you will now see this assignment under the Assignments tab. To see more information on this assignment, select the Assigned To link as shown.
-----------------------------------------------
In this example, notice that we have previously assigned this Word Explorer to a class group named Sample Group. We added this assignment for the class group Demo Student Grade 5 just now. Select the button for one of the class groups to see additional information. For this example, we have selected the Demo Student Grade 5 class group.
-----------------------------------------------
In this view, we can see the students in this class group who have received this assignment. Selecting the Sub Groups tab will show you information about any sub-groups that have received this assignment.
