How to Build and Reorder Your Assignment Playlist

Updated on

An assignment playlist allows an educator to combine up to five lesson components into a single list of assignments that students can complete and teachers can monitor collectively. This method streamlines the assignment process and helps track progress efficiently.

Adding Lesson Components to Your Assignment Playlist

Building an assignment Playlist is easy.  As you browse EduSmart Lesson Components, look for the "Playlist" icon. Click the "Playlist" icon.

  1. Find the 1st Lesson Component you want to add (in this example, the Word Explorer).
  2. Select the “Playlist” icon to add it to your Assignment Playlist.
  3. Verify that the Playlist counter now shows “1”.
  4. Repeat this process to add additional Lesson Components until your playlist reaches the maximum of 5 items.

In the upper right corner of the screen, notice that the "Playlist" icon and counter now displays a "5" indicating that you have added 5 lesson components to your assignment Playlist.

Reordering Items in a Playlist

Locate the Triple Bar (≡) Icon: To the left of each playlist item, you'll see a triple bar symbol or hamburger icon (☰) drag handle.

Hover to Activate: Move your mouse over the triple bar; a four-sided arrow will appear, indicating that the item is draggable.

Click and Drag: Click and hold the icon, then drag the item up or down in the playlist to reposition it according to your lesson plan.

Release to Drop: Let go of the mouse button when the item reaches the desired place; the playlist updates instantly.

This method enables teachers to arrange their playlist in the most effective order for instruction and student engagement.
