TX Teacher — Step-by-Step Guide

This guide walks Texas Teachers through the Item Analysis report in EduSmart. Teachers can review Unit Test results for a group, open the Itemwise Analysis to see how students answered each question, and download the reports.

STEP 1: Open the Item Analysis Report for Unit Tests

Callout ①: From the top navigation bar, click Reports.

Callout ②: Select the Item Analysis tab.

Callout ③: Use the GROUP dropdown to select the class or group you want to review (e.g., Demo 6-8).

Callout ④: Make sure the Unit Tests tab is selected. Each test is listed with the number of students Assigned, Completed, the Average Score, and the Median.

Callout ⑤: Click Download report to download the Unit Tests summary for this group.

Callout ⑥: Click the orange Report icon next to a test (e.g., Unit Test: Interrelationships Between Organisms) to open its Itemwise Analysis.

Note: You can also switch to the Reporting Category Tests or STAAR Practice tabs to review those test types the same way.

STEP 2: Review the Itemwise Analysis

The Itemwise Analysis lists every question in the test with its Body of Knowledge, Standards, DOK level, Qn No., Qn Type, and the number of students who selected each answer choice — Student Selection (A) through (D).

Callout ⑦: Use the test dropdown to switch the Itemwise Analysis to a different Unit Test without leaving the page.

Callout ⑧: Click Download report to download the item-level results for the selected test.

Note: An asterisk (*) marks the correct answer choice for each question, so you can quickly spot how many students chose the right option versus common wrong answers.

Quick Reference Summary

1. Click Reports in the top navigation bar, then select the Item Analysis tab.
2. Choose your Group from the dropdown and make sure the Unit Tests tab is selected.
3. Review Assigned, Completed, Average Score, and Median for each test; click Download report for the summary.
4. Click the orange Report icon next to a test to open its Itemwise Analysis.
5. Review each question's Standards, DOK, and Student Selection counts; the asterisk (*) marks the correct answer.
6. Use the test dropdown to switch tests, and Download report to export the item-level results.
