Item Analysis Report
FL Administrator — Step-by-Step Guide
This guide walks Florida Administrators through accessing the Item Analysis report in EduSmart. The Item Analysis report shows question-by-question response data for assigned tests, helping administrators identify which answer choices students selected and how many answered each question correctly.
STEP 1: Go to Reports and Open Item Analysis
Callout ①: From the top navigation bar, click Reports.
Callout ②: On the Reports page, click the Item Analysis tab.
Use the Group dropdown to select the group you want to analyze. The table shows all tests assigned to that group, with columns for Test Name, Assigned count, Completed count, Average Score, and Median.
Callout ③: Click the orange Report icon next to any test to open its Itemwise Analysis.
STEP 2: Review the Itemwise Analysis
Clicking the Report icon opens the Itemwise Analysis page for the selected test (e.g., SSA Practice Test – Section A). The table displays one row per question with the following columns:
Body of Knowledge — Reporting category code (e.g., N for Nature of Science, E for Earth & Space Science).
Standards — The Florida science standard addressed by the question (e.g., SC.5.N.1.1).
DOK — Depth of Knowledge level for the question.
Qn No. — Question number within the test.
Qn Type — Question format (e.g., Multiple Choice).
Student Selection (A), (B), (C), (D) — Number of students who selected each answer choice. The correct answer is marked with an asterisk (*) next to the count.
Callout ④: Choose the type of test – Quiz, SSA Practice Test – A or B from the dropdown menu.
Callout ⑤: Click Download report to export the Itemwise Analysis to a file.
STEP 3: Download the Report
Click the Download report button (Callout ⑤, top right of the Itemwise Analysis page) to export the data as an Excel (.xlsx) file. The exported file contains the same columns as the on-screen table: Reporting Category, Standards, DOK Level, Qn No., Qn Type, and Student Selections for each answer choice.
Note: The exported Excel file mirrors the Itemwise Analysis table. Each row represents one question. Student selection counts with an asterisk (*) identify the correct answer choice. The file saves to your default Downloads folder.
